After earning his Bachelor’s degree from Fayetteville State University and Master’s degree from North Carolina Central University, David Alfred Bain Jr. began his career nearly 20 years ago. Starting out as a substance abuse counselor, he progressively worked his way up to supervisory, management and other administrative roles in the human services arena.
David has been the quiet partner since the acquisition and transitioning from Bain’s Counseling and Care Management Center to North Carolina Recovery Support Services. He has recently joined the team at NCRSS in a full-time clinical and management capacity.
Mr. Bain’s clinical skills and collaborative work behaviors were instrumental in The Wake County Work First Substance Abuse team achieving national best practice recognition by DHHS in the Urban Toolkit. David pledged Alpha Phi Omega during his sophomore college teen years and continues his dedication to the fraternity for life. He is a member of National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors ( NAADAC ) and Addiction Professional of North Carolina (APNC)
Mr. Bain is Licensed and certified by The North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Certification Board as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)Growing up in rural Holly Springs North Carolina and being the first college graduate of seven sisters and brothers , Mr. Bain is dedicated to the belief that family and community dynamics are very important components of effective treatment and recovery, and believes that with the right attitude, support and hard work people can beat the odds of unfavorable statistics.
David is the proud son of David and Geraldine Bain Sr. and happily married to Clara Downing Bain. Together they have three children and grandchildren.
